Cool Celebrating an absence of bling....

    No problemo, Karl!

It is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship but I just think that, generally, 12” arms look too ungainly on turntables. I much prefer a 9 or 10 incher.

I don't disagree (I also generally prefer their sound), but on there it seems to work.

Thanks for all the kind comments gentlemen. It sounds better than it looks.

I was also very lucky to be able to buy a lovely vintage Luxman silver SUT from Ali of this parish a year or so back. It's a beautiful combination.

I feel the exact opposite. I love 12" arms for their purposeful look and indeed practical and tactile properties. The extra mass is also useful for many m/coils, though in respect of the V12, it's only one gramme heavier than the Five; quite odd ! However, the deck has got to suit, which lets out most if not all suspended decks. The old idlers (301/401/Goldrings) really suited the SME 3012s around at the time. They really looked the 'biz', although were probably less suitable for the high compliance Shures etc. around then.
