I think there is a lot to be said for how something is said as much as what is said.

When I posted a thread saying how much I love my new Clearaudio TT, I received positive comments (and a lot of help). You could easily have waded in saying it looks shit and potentially taken the shine off my joy (no one likes piss on their chips) and probably taken the thread in a negative direction. It was considerate that you didn't.

But in a thread about likes and dislikes of TT design, I'd be a bit thin skinned to take offence at your opinion of my beautiful TT.

A bit of consideration goes a long way, everything in it's place, including "Kit of shit"...

I 100% agree! Indeed, if I'd done that, it would've been tantamount to blatant thread-crapping, which we frown upon here. It's a different kettle of fish though, criticising stuff on a general thread like this

Sorry I don't like the look of your T/T, but many hate what I consider looks good, especially ancient and obsolete broadcast equipment, so don't take it to heart, mate!

Did I? I'm not in the habit of commenting on other forums (except Wigwam where there was a specific thread), so no idea in which context I may have done, Marco. I actually like a bit of pedestrianism (is that a word ?) anyway, as it means I don't have to read through reams, as in some threads, esp. off-topic, on pfm. This thread reached a very fast walking pace; almost jogging. It also inspired me to investigate whether Photobucket still worked. Def. a result all round !
