They are both fugly as hell as far as I am concerned.
I grew up in the 'fifties so to me TTs like the Garrard 301 were as fugly as duck ... bit like Granny's flying ones on her wall - or horse brasses
Decks like the Braun's were refreshingly modern - clean lines, functional - superb engineering (apart from the bits of string...)
