I agree; that helps enormously, as it's more browny. Just as long as there's no gold bling!
In reality, it's the 'baboon's arse' red colour, of 'faux rosewood', which really jars the eye.

Here's a fine Lenco build by a guy called Steve who used to post on Lenco Heaven. We seemed to have lost touch which is a shame. Anyway, this uses a PTP replacement plate so the full depth of the platter can be seen. Although I'm never keen on multiple arms I like the deck for its simplicity of design. Steve even made the cloned arms himself, very clever man.I like how Lenco's sound, but not keen on their looks. Those skinny/flimsy little platters don't do it for me. I like big fat, chunky bastards, like on your Orbe!!

Nice one, Ian. As far as the platter goes, that's much better! I wonder why more Lencos aren't built that way? For me, the thin, insubstantial look of the platter (on the surface) makes them look a bit 'toytown'.
I like something that exudes an air of authority, and looks purposeful! Wouldn't have chosen the 'mustard' coloured mat, though...

I have heard one of these in a all Macintosh you needed sunglasses before you could enter the room with all those lights, how anyone could put up with it I don,t know. Has to be said in this particular room it sounded respectable very powerful and at the same time graceful he had an Ikeda 345 9" and a Miyajima Madake that helped. Has to be one of the worst looking current decks around.This of course, has to be the most beautiful turntable ever built.
