Default Tisbury Pre-Amp Set Up and RCA leads

I've just bought Bonky's Tizy off him to try in between my Caiman seg and my Quad 306 or Amptastic Mini-1.

My question is do the settings at the bottom of the Tizy relate to only one of the outputs? If so will I be connecting the 306 or the mini to the adjustable output?

Also I only have a couple of cheapo phono leads at the mo (UGREEN and Primewire) I was thinking of investing in some Sommer Carbokab 225 rca cables possibly even making some up myself. What are the chances of these making a recognisable improvement over the ones I already have?
    Current system:
    RPi + Allo Digione
Beresford Caiman Seg & Dorado powered by 15v Linear PSU
    Transcendent Sound Mini Beast OTL
    Amptastic Mini-1
Klipsch KG4.5 Speakers with Titanium Diagphrams and Sonicap Cap upgrade
110aH Leisure Battery powers the Mini-1 & Digione

Output 1 is variable with volume control, not controlled by switches.

Output 2 is configurable to be as Variable or fixed by the switches underneath, so can be pass through.

I believe CarboKab will be beneficial and recognizable. If you can solder you can make your own CarboKab 225 cables, for RCA's MS Audio silver are really recommended.

The central conductor of CarboKab has a coating of conductive thermoplastic that you have to scrape away carefully to expose the conductor for soldering, not difficult but needs care.

Thanks for the info Gary this is really useful. If I say my Quad is my main Amp then I suppose this is the one I'll connect to Output 1?

Do you know what tool is best used to scrape away the thermoplastic?

Yes, output 1 to main amp.

I used a Stanley knife blade, but little pressure if you dig it in it will cut the conductor, just go gently and you will be fine.

The RCA plugs do matter, MS Audio Silver.....or better.

Brilliant, don't seem many places sell the MS audio rca plugs. Are the Neutrik ones not up to scratch?

They are available from eBay. If your impatient I probably have a spare new set I would let you have.

If you want a complete kit I also have some spare CarboKab 225.

    I wouldn't use Neutrik.

Gary that's much appreciated but I will need at least two sets and preferably three so I will order and wait. Thanks again for your help and kind offer.

All a matter of opinion - no need to spend silly money on posh RCA plugs - Neutrik are absolutely fine.
