I couldn't help it Geoff, you started me off down the Class A route with the Monarchy. Which will be staying here In case another pops up. The opportunity to have those in Bridged mode is too good to turn down.

Get tight speakers and any good amp does. Then get the inputs right. Would think your there with it all although can't vouch for the speakers as not heard any like those
You've a top deck and the monarchy is a good amp.

The speakers are probably the most outrageous bargain of all time. Honestly, if I'd paid £2k for them I'd still be sat here thinking they were a bargain. I absolutely love them. Weight, scale, resolution and detailed. Fast cones and a sealed cab.

They also have heft. A great recommendation from Geoff.

    Bang on Grant.

Much the way I'm steering my system (eventually). I'm aiming for high efficiency speakers and modest amplification. I already have all the bits I need.

Anybody thinking of bunging a great sounding little system together on a shoestring should listen to a vintage Trio KA-2000A integrated amp. Only 12 watts, but they're good ones, the sound quality is quite remarkable.

I know, 'cos I've had a few of these. I'd put the sound as being quite similar to the Sugden A21 for purity. Match them with a pair of vintage Wharfedale Super 8 RSDD full range drivers in good boxes and you have a really nice setup.

Good. If they float your boat then they are perfect. Trick now is to say to yourself over and over the title of my gallery thread.

Ive been happy since I built my last set although keeping the smaller telefunkens too unless I get an offer I can't refuse. Or have to leave my home

It's been a few weeks since my last relapse. It was costly and completely irrational but it was a minor slip and completely justified in the end result.

    However, today.......... I lost control.

    I've bought another amplifier.

    A Luxkit Z504 power amp.

I heard one of these at the Penkridge bakeoff and to be honest, I rated it.

No Krell for me at the minute but I'm more comfortable trying this out. If it doesn't work out, I'll move it on and wait for the right Krell.

I have a sneaky feeling it could be quite good.

    Opinions welcome as always.

Thanks very much Oli for buying this amp. When I saw you posting about them earlier (in the eBay thread) I was sorely tempted to grab it. Their reputation precedes them.

Thankfully I now don't have to keep thinking about getting them. Until that is when you want to move them on.

An audioholic can never have too many amps you know.
