    Hi Marco, nice thread.

I think the care and attention that has went into fitting those door speakers says a lot about the quality of the install, very nice work!

Wonder will the whole lot need running in, especially the speakers?

    Hi Jon,

Thanks, mate. I've always been a believer in doing a job once, and doing it RIGHT (no half measures), therefore it's important to employ an expert who really knows what he's doing, and Sean's certainly that

In terms of running in, most of it (save the cables and mono amp) were installed in my last car, so it should be pretty much run in. In future, I can see myself spending quite a bit of time in the car!

Some more pics of 'work in progress'...

Front and back door speakers now in situ, and tweeters installed behind the factory grilles. Last pic shows wiring to the front-left speaker. Sean solders directly to the terminals and shrink tubes over the top, for an optimal connection.

Starting to get there... Pics of the boot build and sub-box next!

But before then just in.... A pic of one of the finished front doors:

Rather nice, eh? Especially when you know how neat the work's been carried out behind it!

Love how he's removed the logos (and silver grille surrounds) from the JBL drive units, and fixed them onto the car's factory grilles. That's class, and makes it look like the speakers have always been there, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm well pleased

Nice job there. My motor has an eleven speaker JBL system factory fitted, best sound system I’ve had in a car.

On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

Cheers, Ali. Nice one, and I don't doubt it.

I went for JBL as I like the sound of their home hi-fi speakers, and they get a good rep in the car hi-fi market too, particularly in terms of delivering high SPPV, which as you know, is very important to me when assembling any kind of sound system!

Here's a pic of the other front door (one of the panels still to go in):

As I said, you wouldn't know it hadn't been factory fitted.
