Lol. I'm pretty fluent in French (and fully fluent in Italian), so can write and speak it (I have formal qualifications in both languages), and yes my French accent is not too bad, honed with having travelled abroad to France on holiday by car, since I was about 5 years old, which coincidentally is where I learned a lot of my conversational French!

So, no 'Allo, Allo' accents here

Yes I read a long time ago that sound insulation is important, as road and engine noise can have a cancelling effect on bass frequencies.

One of my fave speakers at Munich this year was the JBL 4367.

Bad boys that can hammer out bass at high SPL with ease. Ace with reggae and electronica. Rock, too.

Looks like you are on your way to an in-car equivalent.

Interesting, Justers, on the JBLs at Munich... I'm certainly after something that can 'hammer out bass at high SPL with ease', particularly with electronica and dance music - *but*, when the music demands, the system must also be capable of delivering finesse and subtlety, and treat the human voice, especially, in a convincing, natural and believable way

Although it might look rather bad-ass, the system will be designed to do justice to a wide range of music, as one minute I could be listening to Rachmaninov, and the next, Rammstein!!

That JBL is on my great speaker list. Screw the DD67000, which madly pales in comparison. A close hi-fi buddy also thinks the DD67000 sucks. Sounds shite for the price.

However, the 4367 is great. I also thought Bohne made some of the best speakers at the show. They use modded JBL drivers and a short Apogee like ribbon. An 18 inch JBL driver, plus two subs also with 18 inch drivers. A bloody great 18 inch driver.

The 4367 is a great speaker all round. It just happens to be able to do what a lot can't do so well and that's really high SPL and great bass with lots of weight.

At £10K it's great value. For a new speaker, that is. It lacks vertical scale which pisses me off, bit I still rate it highly.

The Bohne BB-18 is 30K Euros. It is better I would say but that is a lot of extra wonga. 40K odd K Euros with the extra subs.

No contest! (See pic).
On Thursday, we drove South from carlisle to bristol.
The "Going' North lane on M5 was solid !!! from Blackpool to Cheltenham - 150 miles?- so you NEED good tunes to pass the HOURS stuck still.
Made us give up longer CAR journeys immediately!
