Default Where to buy valves from

Now my ecc 88 bugle boy valves need replacing after around 8- 9,000 hours sterling work on my audio innovation 500 amp I was just wondering the best place to start looking for replacements ?
Not quite sure whether to go with the usual suspects like Langrex, Watford valves, Hot Rox for example or take a chance on eBay. There seems to be plenty of bids on decent examples on there and
have had 1 or 2 good results there before, but is it more risky ? So any input would be gratefully received folks. Thanks

I use eBay a lot and never usually have a problem.

Others I have spoken to have had loads of issues with valves from eBay.

Analyse the listing and THINK a lot on eBay stuff. Use your nouse. Chances are you'll be fine if you make reasonable choices based on the facts that are starring you in the face.

Try JAC Music his stock list is far more extensive than I ever imagined. I have bought some expensive shit from him with no problems. And am buying more.

That said, virtually anywhere is a risk. The couriers will not insure glassware for anything apart from loss as far as I am aware.

I had one very bad experience with Hotrox whilst buying Psvane valves but each to their own. They are possibly one of the biggest suppliers of valves in the UK so they must be doing something correct.

Excellent service and good prices, I purchased my PSVANNEs from them, they do all sorts of valves for guitar amps and audio.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.
