Mmm... That's not ideal, mate. You could be doing with double that distance. However, as long as it sounds fine to you, and you can enjoy music on your system, that's all that matters

I used to work at bench with Quad ELSs about 4 feet from my ears. Were just like giant headphones!

I'd be looking for some absorbent panels on the ceiling above and in front of them too, looks like there might be reflections bouncing about all over to me.

Nice setup, Robin - and I bet it's good to have your own space for the music.

Not sure what model those ARTs are, but I have heard some similar which sound very good indeed.
    - and the speaker drive units are nice and close together so near-field listening should work well.
The stereo thing is all about angle subtended, so if you sit close then no problem. I've seen quite a few systems, even in large rooms, with a similar set of angles.
Might be nice to get the full 1.5m, though.

Interesting shaped space as well, you won't get the usual rectangular room resonances and room nodes cropping up.
Does it seem to work well?

What sort of music do you listen to there?

Thanks Jerry, it’s nice to have the space even if it’s a loft, I listen to a wide range of music, if it’s good and has soul I will listen to it.
Soul, some Country, singer songwriter, Americana, Jazz funk not really into pop or classical, plus some rock.

The speakers are great and really pleased with them, they are based on the ART Stiletto 6 with some of the wiring from the Dram range.
    Regards
    Robin
