“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

If it had been fitted with McIntosh’s blue power meters, I’d have it like a shot. In fact, why don’t they make an add-on meter unit??!

As to hi-if goodies, as well as B&O equipment, I have lots and lots and lots of B&O collectibles - jumpers, shirts, jackets, umbrellas, a golf bag, a shoe bag, a sports bag, tie pin, belt, a car gear knob, a promotional cartridge dismantled and set into acrylic, a set of dolls-House size equipment models, bottle openers, wine bottle and champagne bottle stoppers, a blanket, mugs, a pint glass, a milk jug and dozens of pens. And probably other stuff I’ve forgotten.

And, yes, I do need to get out more...

    Default McTosh?

Looks more like some "McTosh", rather than "McIntosh". This product seems to be designed for fetishists possibly?

There’s actually nothing about McIntosh gear that appeals to me; I hate the font, I really don’t like the overall styling of anything they do and I don’t like the sound either. However, some people absolutely LOVE all the stuff I find so offputing.

I'm not much for the styling either but it is unique. Which makes you wonder why you would need a fifteen hundred dollar illuminated sign to tell your guests you have Mcintosh kit. Either they are into hi-fi and would recognise the brand from 300 yards or they're not and so don't care what it is anyway.
