    Default Jelco TS-550S experiences?

    Hello,

I’m curious, if any of you guys tried the new Jelco TS-550S as an upgrade for the SL-1200? Is it sonically better than the stock arm? Or do I have to move up to the knife-edge bearing TK-850S to really hear improvements over the stock 1200 arm?

FWIW, I plan to use a Soundsmith retipped DL103R (Al cantilever), and a Soundsmith retipped Benz Micro MC Gold (Al cantilever).

    Thank you.

    Regards...

    Hi,

BTW, I have an early “steel knife edge” bearing SME 3009II. I’m wondering if that would be considered as an upgrade for the 1200. Yeah it’s more vintage, but SQ-wise it might have an edge over the stock arm?

    Regards

Had one on a Garrard a couple of years back and soon got rid. Dull as dish water.

Thanks Steve.. That’s with the SME I guess. What cartridge and headshell did you have on it?

    Regards
