OK thanks I have ordered one
I have had good results with R cores in the past and I will mount it on a sound deadening sheet and bond the frame to the transformer if it is noisy

Good morning all.
I've Nearly completed Oliver's Bigbottle build and will soon be ready to order the transformer. The rest of the parts have just arrived and will be fitted the weekend.
Can anyone supply a link to the ones you have used please as I'm struggling a bit to find a suitable one as I'm a complete noob.
Anyway here's a pic of where I am upto at the moment.
Hi Nathan,
Looks great! Did you get the revisions to the part values earlier in the thread? IIRC those green capacitors have been emitted and a couple of reisitor values have changed slightly to provide a more accurate riaa curve.
There is a link to the Transformer DIY Audio which costs about £20
I'll try and find the link later.
Hi Oliver,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I did see the revisions but thought I'd try getting this up and running first then make the changes at a later date.
If you could find the link I'd appreciate it.
Nathan.
At least take those green capacitors off before trial.
Good morning all,
Would the power supply in the link be suitable or is there another you would recommend.

Yes that transformer is suitable, I have used the same one myself.
However there is a caveat. The tx isn't a toroid so the magnetic field is greater, unless you shield it very effectively or have a large case so it can be positioned far from the MC inputs you may have problems with induced hum.
Also with the construction a lot of these examples have a low mechanical hum/buzz to them. If you want silence then look elsewhere.
