No doubt they performed well in their day and considering my dp80 is 30 years old and is excellent, I would think they would still perform well, but I would keep my dp80 over that dp100 as it has a look only its mother could love.

I'm a vintage broadcast T/T fiend, so anything from this lot would hit the spot nicely.... See if you can name them all:

Now THAT is what you call a TONEARM... High-mass roolz!!

The Denon one at the end is a particular favourite - VU METERS on a turntable!

Not sure about the first one, but the others are:

    EMT 950 (narrow consol version)

BBC consol using Garrard 301 and BBC designed arm

    EMT 950 (narrow consol version)

Gates CB-77 turntable with Gray research arm (a 108/ or one of its many clones)

BBC RP consol using a Garrard 301 and another BBC design arm

Denon (?) - now that one has me stumped. The TT looks it's based on the DP100 fitted with a stand-alone Denon arm.

If you like 'heavy-looking' professional TTs designed for use in broadcast studos, check out the Bordereau TD110 designed for use by ORTF

(Note the Pierre Clémant cartridge fitted to the arm)

and another Bordereau design made for Schlumberger (the Schlumberger 211):

I think the exact opposite! I love the look of the DP100, as I do with virtually all professional broadcast turntables. Suum cuiqe

My EMT is 44 years old.

The first ones are Fairchild T/Ts and arms, Barry, used in a US radio station, back in the day

Yes, love the Bordereau, and of course the Pierre Clémant (love those brightly-coloured red cans)... I can imagine they would make a rather sonically beguiling combination!

For years I've fancied a Michell Transcriptor but just don't want to pay the large sums asked for a tt that needs serious input. I had a chat with Hifi Dave a while back as he knows them very well and from what he said I think I'd need deep pockets to make one sound special. Perhaps they are just a very pretty ornament now but if one came along at a good price...…..

A man with taste I have had the pleasure of listening to one against an continuum at a dealers place, its an extra ordinary beast so effortless the finest turntable i have ever heard. I found the Rockport with the same cartridge in the same system to have quite the edge over the Continuum arms were different so to get a clearer idea would. Unfortunately only 30 were ever produced and the price went crazy. Sadly don't think its one I will ever own.
