    Default Yamaha NS1000M upgrade components.

    Hi guys, I ordered a bunch of coils in order to upgrade my yammies but I’ve now bottled it !! I can’t take them back as they’re a special order .
    They owe me £68.00, I’ll do the lot for £50 posted ( U.K. )
    Brand new and still wrapped.

    I just can't bring myself to move mine away from original spec.
    Main system: Sony TTS8000; AT1010; Audio Technica Art1; The Lentek; Cambridge 851n, Yamaha NS1000.
    System 2 - SBT; Technics SH-X1000 DAC; Denon PMA-850

    Ditto mate, though I have swapped out the tweeter capacitor and that did make a huge improvement.

    If these are the same coils as the ones I used then they won't alter the spec of the speakers as they are the same value and the same DCR (resistance). The only difference is that they are better quality coils and half of them are air cored instead of ferrite cored. In my experience, and I have done both, replacing the coils is more beneficial than replacing the caps. The only negative is the coils are quite a bit bigger than the originals.

    OT for a FS thread but I'll risk it.

    How does one ascertain coil values on a crossover when the values are not marked/indicated? I'd like to do it on some speakers I recapped already.
    Current: [P20] Roon/Tidal > Custom PC> Chevron Paradox NDF16 > Phast Pre > Neuro. 686 > Tannoy Berkley (RFC tweaks)

    I personally have no idea Edward , I just followed Mark’s ( YNWaN ) instructions on “ how to make your own ns1000m’s crossover “
    Ordinarily I wouldn’t be phased by a like for like swap but in the case of these the coils are much bigger than the original ones .

    With a multi-meter or meter that can read inductance values.
