But you have got it back to front, vinyl gives so much more.

OK I understand that you need to spend plenty to get good vinyl playback, but I couldn't be without it.

Happy that you have made the decision, enjoy your tunes.

Vinyl is a temptress who occassionally comes out in my house and makes me think WTF have I done? But after I have played all my best pressings I soon re-realise that it's average level of ability is definitely below digital.

12 inch 45s though can fuck me up. Literally. The perceived SQ can be amazing. To this day.

So elequently put Justin I love how many ways intentionally or unintentionally the vinyl vs digital debate comes up and is explored by AOS members. I am often drawn to investigate just how good digital has become and can definitely give it the thumbs up when its done well. However it never makes my jaw drop like vinyl does or give me goose bumps or makes me think F@5CK that sounds good. Ok when you get a great recording well mastered on digital it can sound OK but so much digital sounds......digital! All the vinyl I have both satisfies my soul and relaxes my brain but engages me in a way no digital system has ever been able to achieve. I still hit the glass wall.

Vinyl makes the music sound so real. It is the meat and the bone, it is inspirational and often sounds amazing. I still shout out when i hear some of my great records they are that good no matter how many times I listen too them. No digital music has ever done that for me. As a consequence I am happy to get off my arse every 20 minutes and go through all the faff and ritual each time. I am prepared to put up with clicks and pops and all the imperfections of vinyl because it sounds so damn good!

From what I have experienced with modern reissues, you are absolutely right. I was very disappointed, for example, buying a bunch of reissued Prince vinyl, and have lost count of the times when I’ve gotten warped records, or records that sound like the worst of CD, and the worst of vinyl, at the same time.

Vinyl can be and often IS frustrating but, imo, digital doesn't even come close.

My ears are analogue, therefore I am analogue.

Always see it as the difference between listening to the music ... or listening to the technology.

    Yep, I'd agree with that.

Digital streaming once set up just gets out of the way and provides you with an astonishing range of music available at the flick of a finger.

With analog you have all the faff of cartridge/arm/turntable setup, LP maintenance, storage and retrieval, turning the effing things over after 20 minutes, background noise and grunge.
It just gets in the way of the music.

and did we mention warped records, nailing the sweetspot (which can sometimes literally sap the very life out of you, the time and elusiveness) otherwise serious ear fatigue and basically not great sound and so on and so on....

But I'm still analogue, cause when it's 'there' life is so VERY GOOD !!!

From that statement it sounds like you gave up on the better quality music for the convenience of digital

You appear to be confusing quality with delivery method!
How's your fly tipping venture going?
