    No, not at all.

As Marco would tell you, when he visited he enjoyed my system and the digital was miles ahead of the vinyl - admittedly the vinyl end was not at its best at the time. Going through the phono stage of a vintage Marantz receiver, all warm and cuddly and golden glow. I hadn't taken it seriously for years, really.

I never really fell for the "ritual" of vinyl and the noise issues bugged the hell out of me, but you didn't get much choice back then unless you went in deep with the faff and expense of reel to reel. I just wanted to hear the music. The gear is a means to an end, although I do enjoy that as a separate but related interest.
I embraced digital with open arms when it came along.
And now internet music streaming - ah, perfectimondo.

I understand what you are saying but of course the output from my MDAC is analogue and so therefore is the output from the speakers.

Digital streaming once set up just gets out of the way and provides you with an astonishing range of music available at the flick of a finger.

With analog you have all the faff of cartridge/arm/turntable setup, LP maintenance, storage and retrieval, turning the effing things over after 20 minutes, background noise and grunge.
It just gets in the way of the music.

    Just saying ...
Oh yes, it definitely is irritating and it definitely gets in the way of the performance.

In my system I have made the decision to choose better quality sound with a far superior stereo image and an infinitely greater level of pleasure than the one I had with vinyl.

I listen to 95% digital these days, but still like that 5% of vinyl. There is nothing quite like it for me, and why i'm reluctant to get rid....so far

Stereo imaging with digital is limited certainly in spatial depth and separation compared to vinyl in my experience. But hey, we all hear differently!
