    Default FS Inca Tech Claymore

    Hi all

I recently bought this, for £325 + p&p. The seller thought it had a MC phono stage, which it doesn't (but it has the MM/MC switches beneath - hence the confusion). Colin Wonfor may be able to add the MC stage, but the buyer would have to liaise with Colin on this. Colin did recap it in March. Not sure if it was standard, but it has an Alps Blue pot

I would like to recoup the £325.

Against my high-end valve pre and power amps (World Audio Designs pre2 and 300B) this is very very good! Very close in sound quality

    Best

    Adrian

Just for clarity, does that mean it is just MM?

Yes. MM only. But buy it anyway, for the line inputs! Fabulous

If you can build with vero and solder well I will be very happy to put the cct up for the MC add on as a JPG.
A simple mod but the parts are not pennies.
This amp when tested perform superbly.
The 4 standard FET's were replaced for a more modern type and the 4,700uF cap have been replaced with 4 off 10,000uF ( less ripple and more music with deeper bass) and also the 3A Diodes in the rectifiers have been upgrade to 4 off 6Amp ( to allow for a bigger inrush current) type and the Alp mini pot was replaced with a Blue Alps Pot, also all the small electrolytic have been replaced for a lower ESR type, 470uF/220uF/100uF/10uF, the caps into power stage signal path have also been upgraded.

So overall this is a nice wee amp.

    Hi Colin

as I am advertising for sale I thought it worth double checking that the list of mods is accurate. All caps seem new, but less sure about the FETs. Please see picture

    Hi Adrian,

Good god, I have done so many update I was sure this had new FET's, no these look like the Toshiba ones, and not the older Hitachi ones.

    Hi Colin

if they don't look like the older Hitachi ones, does this mean they have been done?
