Just wondering - do you have a collection setup for your CD's/Vinyl or tapes in Discogs?

If so, what is your most expensive recording and which is the most surprising?

For me it is the OASIS - Untitled box set - MAX is £506 (currently)

Biggest surprise is an EP I bought from a second hand shop for 50p - Talk Talk, Laughing Stock, max is £178...

I don't use Discogs for cataloguing but I use it a lot as a reference and for buying. I often find that things you think might be worth a bit aren't and vice versa. Every now and again I notice something I own with a surprising value, eg the other day a Depeche Mode compilation album with a high of £222 or The Cure A Forest 12" with a high of £175. Of course the high is possibly just what one person who is desperately keen will pay. I can't bear to part with any of my records though, it'll be my family who get the benefit from disposing of them when I've moved on or am no longer capable...

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
