Yup, exactly as described in the article I linked to. Apparently thousands of fans were spilling onto the road, which explains the safety concerns... And yes, aside from being a Liverpool fan, I'm also a BIG fan of Klopp.

I like (proper) Germans like him (with a good sense of humour), who are *so* different from the stereotypical examples often discussed, or the idiots you find abroad on Spanish package holidays! In terms of nature, he's just like my wife's German family

The reason I have a soft spot for Man Utd, is largely because of Alex Ferguson, the Scottish factor, and of course all the superb teams and players he managed in his time there.

Germany is a fabulous country, and most of the people I've met there have been great. They tend to love Scotland (and the Scots), especially drinking malt whisky - and BOY can the Germans drink, but you rarely see them drunk in pubs, or in the streets, and acting like idiots, as you do here with many Brits.

Del's family mostly come from Cologne and Bergisch Gladbach. We've had some great nights out there, including going to see Rammstein play live in Düsseldorf, which was just fab!

She also has family who live in the mountainous and very scenic Eifel district, which is just beautiful. Loved Berlin when we visited there a few years back, too - a truly superb city!

Enjoyed my time in Aachen, Marco although I never really got my head round the carnival in February.

Yeah, Aachen's not far away. I think the only way to 'get' Germans properly, is to spend time living with them in their own country, and in my experience of doing that, they're far from being the 'arrogant robots', devoid of any sense of humour, many wrongly portray them as; in fact my own personal experience, in that respect, makes a complete mockery of that image.
