Impossible to predict how game goes tomorrow. Should be a decent game for viewers tho. I'm more interested in ger's not losing silly goals and thus games It's Gerard's first season and quite happy for him to bed in and show improvement from last year. It wasn't as bad a season as often claimed as they were top scorers and only a point off second. And hibs just behind.

Expecting hearts and Killy to be in the mix this year too

Just getting the Barby sorted for tonight's dinner, so currently short of time. However, here are some quick thoughts on today's game:

1) Aberdeen were shocking and clearly suffering from post-European blues! Until they scored their late goal, they'd done nothing in the game, aside from huffing and puffing a lot, even after Rangers went down to 10 men. Like Rangers, they also badly need a quality striker.

2) If Celtic had played them today, in that state, they'd have beaten them two or three nil, minimum, so Rangers still need more firepower up front, to kill teams off, although they did well with their 10 men.

3) The sending off of Morelos was harsh, although his temperament can sometimes be a liability. He needs to curb his tempestuousness!

4) Overall it was a pretty boring match, with little goalmouth action to entertain the fans, and especially neutrals.

5) As I stated before, Rangers won't lose many goals this season (barring any injuries to key players), as they're MUCH more solid and better organised than last year - *but* there's not much sign of flair or real attacking threat. It's all a bit dour/workmanlike and predictable.

They still need to sign a few players, particularly a top-quality striker, who's good for 25-30 goals a season, and can do the biz in the BIG games. It's glaringly obvious that Morelos needs someone of quality playing alongside him, to feed off of. Thing is, can Rangers afford someone like that?

It's an interesting one! Robin made the point recently that James Forrest (our current winger) was rather "lost" in the away game against Rosenborg, which I agreed with (he's a good player, but ultimately for me not Champions League class), and we've missed Paddy Roberts, so Arzani could be the answer

pretty much what the lads said. wasnt really keeping an eye on it. shame they lost an injurytime goal, and thats the second late goal in row theyve let in... need to remember it lasts til final whistle.

There's a lot of business being done nowadays - the CFA is a business in its own right, and Arzani being signed from Melbourne might turn out to be similar to Aaron Mooy being signed not so far back.
Someone has been watching him play, and thinks he might blossom in tougher leagues.
CFG will give him the opportunity to catch Guardiola's eye next closed season, and in between now and then he needs to go out and build a reputation for himself.
Rodgers doesn't look to be too crestfallen with the situation

I was very pleased with young Phil Foden today - the lad is going to get a lot more game time this coming season. He has more than acquitted himself today.
I'm also a bit more relaxed about City's visit to The Emirates next week, when the season kicks off - the whole City team are looking fit and well prepared, and exuding confidence.
Our title defence starts next Sunday.

I don't disagree with you, Grant.
We only lost 5 games in all competitions last season, and they won 3 of them.
With the recent acquisition of Allison Liverpool have a top class keeper, which hasn't been the case for a good while.
If Salah can manage to recreate his form from last season they'll be a formidable force.

City have good motivation - they have a title to defend
