If Celtic can't get up for an Old Firm then it's a pretty bad show. It's the only thing that stands out from one end the poorest leagues in Europe.

City were never going to lose at Brighton, if Liverpool had beaten City this season they would have won the league.

It's not a case of "can't get up", but if you've watched/followed these games for over 40 years, as I have, you'd know that the team with most motivation to win, usually does - and also the team who lost the last old firm meeting, usually 'avenges' the result, which is *exactly* what happened today.

Plus, with a very important cup final to play, players quite naturally won't want to risk any injuries, which was perfectly showcased with the disappointment in Lustig's face when he went off injured in the first half, and so won't play full out, whether they admit it or not. In that respect, for me the result is no surprise.

The SPL is also a lot better/more competitive than you think, which is why if you speak to some very good English players, who've played there, they'll tell you exactly that! You have to remember the paucity of money there is up in Scotland and the size of the country, compared with most other leagues in Europe, and which has a big impact on proceedings. If there was more TV money being injected into the SPL and bigger attendances at games, out with of Rangers and Celtic, things would be much different!

Anyway, yes, well done to Man City! In most other seasons, the points tally Liverpool have accrued would've been enough to have won the title, which shows how consistent City have been this year! Pleased for ya, Chris

Its the best supported league re population base. Think Gerrard mentioned something ive always said re the Scottish game. Cameras are always in poor positions, and often facing empty stands. It doesnt do the game much good.
At same time to an extent if you remove the old firm it would indeed be a micky mouse league in europe. Maybe the fans of lesser clubs should give that a good think about, as without them, it would probably go semi pro

both sides have the problem of keeping sharp without games til the event. Spurs will obviously be hoping Kane is fit.

I fancy the Pool as they have been there before and lost, so may be more up for it.
