I'm in my back room with patio windows, working from home and It has a greenhouse effect feeling in here.

Would much rather be upstairs laid on the bed, windows open doing nothing / relaxing for comfort

Yes, it was a bit warm driving about today, even with all the windows open. Don't have (or want) air con. It uses juice and it's just more to go wrong. Car seemed to be enjoying itself, it was going well!

Mmm... Not sure about it gobbling fuel. I haven't noticed that - maybe it's different in a diesel car? But then I only put it on in spurts, then switch it off for a bit. I don't keep it on constantly.

Opening windows is fine, but in this weather all you're doing is allowing hot air in, so for me in this heat, if you're going any kind of distance at all, air-con is a must!

32°C here at the moment. I think I'll be sleeping downstairs tonight...

I used to live in Haywards Heath in West Sussex and there are some very affluent parts where it costs a fortune to live. I saw loads of rats running around there late at night. The local railway station encouraged a colony of feral cats who did a roaring trade in rat dinners, big, healthy cats that looked as though they were chasing down rats for the fun of it.
