I'd make the greedy fuckers pay for their wastage!!

Anyway, I bet when you have folks round for lunch or dinner, you bring out plates of food to the table, already filled with what you've 'guessed' is going to be enough for them, or what they'd have picked (say, veg-wise) from the selection offered, rather than supplying them with empty plates, and a some bowls filled with whatever food is being served, so that they can help themselves?

The former is a very British thing, and the latter is the continental way

I really hate folk trying to predict what I'm going to eat! Biggest bugbear? My plate piled up high with potatoes, as Brits are obsessed with them (I don't take many, preferring veg instead), and then feeling obliged to eat them all, so as not to offend.....!

It's also perfectly ok for them to hawk up and spit out huge grolleys in public. I won't be taking etiquette advice from them, or any other tiger farmers*

My ex mother-in-law used to reach older my shoulder and add food to my plate while I was still eating! And what’s worse, she was a terrible cook! She made a roast, potatoes, and NO GRAVY? And had to saw the roast into planks with a carpenter’s hand saw!

So! We’ll just go out to eat, problem solved! But wait, my ex father-in-law wanted to argue the check with the manager every time, embarrassing me to no end. I could write a book about the worst in-laws in the world, but I’ll save that for another time. Needless to say I don’t miss them, not even a little. However, my ex was a very good cook! I guess that’s why they cried so loud at our wedding?

Eating out with the in-laws is just the worst!

Some of Mrs. P's family always order steak, and it's never done the way they want it. Underdone, overdone, too tough, too fatty. And I have to sit across from them, with faces like bulldogs licking piss off a thistle. I say, "Why don't you just order something else?" "Oh no, I like a good steak". Like a good whinge more like.

That's the norm here. I can always tell when I'm getting near home by the amount of gob on the deck! You can even find the occasional dump here and there.

And we supposedly have more CCTV than any country in the world. CCTV + lazy policing = bog all done about anything. If it were up to me I'd track down the culprits, give 'em a good slapping and make them take their turds home. In their pockets, with nothing to put it in.

I honestly don’t think I could work in a restaurant. I always leave a good tip, when deserving, and try to be as easy to get along with as possible. But if I had to deal with people like I’ve been out to eat with, I’d be physically ejecting them from the premises! And I fear my tips would suffer.

Exactly my point, so therefore, as a host, don't try and predict how much I'll eat!

Put some food out on the table, and I'll help myself, and then be in control of when I've had enough
