    Default Bye Bye cigs?

I moved from rolling baccy to vaping 5 months ago - this is the longest I have managed without the demon tobacco in 55 years of passionate smoking and I'm more than happy to continue.

I have saved just over £100 a month (which I've been spending on hifi goodies ) but obviously the main benefit has been a huge improvement in my ability to breath without wheezing, taste food and smell things properly (not always a boon ...)

I'm hoping to also phase out the vaping at some point but don't feel any rush to do so given that I haven't experienced any nasties coming from the use.
My question really is whether anyone here who went down this route has also managed to quit the vape as well?

My sister in law went from 40 a day, to vaping and has now stopped completely.
I had a helping hand in this. I bought her a decent e-cig etc.

Well done Mike. I did exactly the same on the 4th March and my experience has been the same.

I actually tested my lack of need for cigarettes by buying one pack a month ago and smoking them, then using the vape again. I felt no pangs (as I expected), so the vaping continues. I actually forget to use it now and then. Guess I'll taper down the liquid strength and usage eventually. One small bottle of vape liquid can last me nearly a week if I go easy and at 99 pence is hardly going to break the bank. Compared to seven and a half quid for a pack of fags that last me a day and a half!

i went cold turkey from 60 a day rollups. wasnt too bad actually but there were moments. after 6 vweeks i tried one and flung it away, saying how did i ever stomach those.
i now do vape occasionally. use the cigarette type as they are weaker by far. ive 2 top class vape mods in house;one never opened(both cool fire 4 plus with the big tanks), and wont use them, as they are imv not as enjoyable as the cig type.

anyway, well done that man; keep it up

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

By the way. For anybody thinking of trying an alternative to cigarettes, I found the various Nicorettes products completely useless. It was only once I tried a proper vape pen with 18mg/ml liquid that I managed to pack fags up!

I’ve just started smoking again today after using a vape since October which has given me serious breathing difficulties.

After a three week stay in hospital back in 2008 I gave up a thirty a day habit but due mainly to boredom I started again a couple of years ago. My landlady made me try a vape under threat of eviction and at first it was ok but I drifted onto cigars, Clare slapped my legs again so I went back to the vape and this time it is great, no cravings at all although I do still ponce one or two rollies from visitors if they smoke lol. You really do notice how much better things taste and smell and I also find sleeping easier with no wheezing, coughing and spluttering. The money saved is quite substantial too. I rarely drink alcohol so I justify my hifi spending as I have to have some pleasure.
One other thing is that many animal charities won't rehome to smokers any more, if you tell them of course.
