    Thumbs up Denon dilemma

A good friend of mine has a very frustrating dilemma and in need of a vintage audio specialist who can repair his Denon PMA 850 amplifier. At the moment it is suffering from a lot of distortion. The obvious candidate i.e. Jez can't do it. So in need of someone to take up the challenge.

It's well within my capabilities Steve, so that's one option.

I presume this is Neils amp ?
If its still playing music and has distortion on the old denon I would start with cleaning all switches and pots
If that doesn't cure it I can have a look at the circuit boards
I have deoxit so Ill tell him to bring it up on Wednesday

Sometimes with amps of this age, the switches that are not used (typically tape monitor) corrode. Activating them multiple times with, the power off, often works.
