    In principle I share your perplexity, the optimal would be a room for the hifi and another room for the home theater.
    But then there is the reality, so I have to compromise: I don't have an extra room to devote to HT and for me the current solution is a good balance between aesthetics and hifi only performance, which for me is the priority

    I have a 42 inch plasma screen set back from the line between the speakers by about 35cm.
    It's just fine, the system sounds great and me and Mrs J can watch Gilbert and Sullivan operettas in great sound.

    I gave up obsessing about such things years ago. Just enjoy the music.

    IMG_3485.jpgWell, not everyone has the choice! I have fond memories of my 'Cinema' room in the 80s!! that had a coffee table-size projector and a (solid) 6' X 4' screen. The sound was projected at the (concave) screen so it freflected back to you. Current TV set-up? -see pic. 50" Kuro with Texas chip Panasonic receiver into Leak 3090s.
