Turntable weight

It's mass is more important than brand/material etc. All you want is something to ensure the record is making good contact with the platter. I have a cheap Chinese one which works really well. Cost me £16 off eBay.

I'd try a half kilo spool of solder first. Will do much the same for your record and for no money (if you have one lying around), and if it's 'night and day' then spend up
