    Default Interconnect Phono leads..

    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me if when listening to a new CD player that I should be using new interconnects.. I am using good quality leads from the 80s!!

    Any help would be great!

    Your leads should bo OK if the soldered joints to the plugs are still sound and the plugs are not oxidised or dirty. If they are, you can probably clean them.

    Clean up the terminations with deoxit or servisol and you should be golden.

    Hi.. thanls for reply...yep in good condition.. any ideas on cleaning connections? Alcohol?

    Check the cable RCA plugs, quite a few from that era (and some current ones) do not solder the plugs to the cable but join them like co-ax aerial leads.
