More is better, you'll have better control over volume not only for quiet listening but smaller jumps when you increase it. This was the main reason I didn't buy Ali's Slagle as it only had 13 and was no good for quiet listening even at 1 on my system.cheers,they do a 24 and a 47.

Yep. Fantastic Preamp that. I bought it in the end but the volume Steve's were too large as Mike says.

2 more question chaps,i assume regarding 10k 50k or 100k i just use what the alps blue is,ie its 100k so i choose 100k when ordering the stepped attenuator yes?
regarding the khozmo,what type is used, you have shunt,ladder and series?

I used a 50k series. I was told be Alan and Rothwell that this is what they would fit. And have.
As for the Value, it's worth a second opinion as you are using valves. Hopefully a valve Guru will respond

Can't see that being bad advice. I use 50k and that's with valves or SS so yeah, go for it.whilst i wait i emailed goldpoint who said for valve most people use 50k or 100k,as i have 100k in there i should stick with that,so like for like.
