    Are they the "high efficiency" model? I often thought they might make a nice cheap alternative to Snells.

    They are indeed bud and very good i still have my ANj's somewhere in the hoard too

    Yes they are very capable speakers i have just looked in yearbook and the Monitor Audio MA 16 dates from 1981 at the cost of a mere £86...

    I would say one that overlooked upon release they really fine sounding speaker and are going in my collection for sure....

    I have 1 class A the Marantz PM4 need to prize it off my dad though as he is using it at the moment...

    The Technics is Class AA...

    Ignore that class AA guff. You should take them round to your dad's to see how they match, he might then want to keep the speakers too

    Late afternoon session yesterday and i found the PM4 a perfect match for the MA16 very lucid and sweet sounding from a range of CD's from Peter Gabriel , Elton John and Crosby Still Nash & Young found a few things that i have never heard they are a bit bass light but with the loudness on soon cured this a fantastic listen i could live with it i am very happy the PM4 is bought for sharing now and owned by both my and my dad.....

    Will run for longer in Class A later on but very tricky with a lab doing to walk around between rooms...

    Happy Listening - later on will be the Massive Attack and Yello test....

    MA's are usually a hit and miss with me but these 16's do it for me....
