The coil rub has been fixed by the Technician no need for the NOS but have a spare one - Next up he just need's to fit the terminal - then a good dab of wood varnish / polish to finish them up then they are making way into my collection - -
Any recommendations for a good wood polish / Varnish?

Last cabinets I did was with Rustins clear satin water based varnish after a rub down first. It was applied with a cloth pad and came up beautifully after waxing, dead easy to apply, two thin coats is enough.

Ohhh Yes - Goosebumps - They took my breath away
My dad's eyeing them up he's had many a Tannoy over the years from Lancaster , Chatsworth , Cheviot 2004 and another in 2008 , Berkeley and a huge pair of GRF or similar cabs with Gold's at one point was fun getting them in the back of a MK4 Escort i remember cos i had to sit in the footwell on the way home looks like we might have to share them -

IMO, there are not many speakers that beat the 'Tannoy Sound'. Not had an Orelle amp (only had an Orelle CDP) but they certainly knew how to take things up high and I'm sure they are a great match for the Chesters. As you say goosebump territory.
Tom Petty suits it all nicely.

The huge soundstage from the Chester's is sensational - recommended the 14 feet apart - The realism of the Instruments even little details in the mixes i have never heard before - So impressed - They love Class AA and Class T from a Topping TP 30 MK2 experimenting
Cheers and Beers

Nice one Dan. I suspect the Luxman may suit the Chesters well.
