    Yep not bargain basement. But IMFs are rich and full sounding, a combination of the design and the drivers used. So the tight, lean sound that is characteristic of Technics amps balances that out. At least that's my theory!

    The Tisbury is here running a Quad 303 Power Amp sounds promising already and thats on cheap Teac test speakers....

    Guys on a 2MV phono stage is it fine to use Moving Magnet Cartridges or is it just for MC as thinking of buying another nytech and the phono stage says 2mv just want to know

    It really depends what the loading is as to the MC MM suitability. I am pretty sure the Nytech is an MM input, as I had a Nytech years ago.

    2mV is quite sensitive for MM.

    Cheers for the info much appreciated ususaly if a Nytech has an MC card it would say either MC1 or MC2 so this should be OK for MM...

    I bought the Nytech guys for some reason its only playing in MONO on CD tried another link plug and still the same any thoughts on what the issue could be its cost enough already no the MONO switch is not on as i stupidly tested and said it was OK i can no longer return the item.

    Any thoughts?

    Slight Change Around

    Wharfedale Dovedale III early 1970 Version / Quad 303 Power amplifier & Tisbury Passive Pre Amplifier CD Player is a Pioneer was Free and works Lol - Rock 'N' Roll their is some gear you just cannot beat and these 3 are awesome sounding together - The Dovedales are a worth while investment not worth an awful lot i payed £75 for mine has anyone ever used a phono Pre amplifier with the Tisbury as i have a P540 i can use for my Rega is this OK to do? Happy Listening

    Yes it is ok to do.


    A 303 with a passive and some easy to drive speakers is a great combination.

    Tisbury also works well with the Quad 306 power amp.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Yes agree Quad 303's were a very nice power amp - they have a really nice stereo presentation that other Quad power amps like 405's cannot do -
    although a 306 per channel is also extremely good. As for attenuation - probably no need for me to say.
