I'm hoping its just dust in the coil gap - No where near as bad today the rub is not around the full circumference of the cone but mid way either side i have done the 180 turn -

If it's more pronounced to one side, it's cone sag and may correct itself after rotation, a warm environment helps.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Sourced a NOS 2528 cone from the states if needed for a Re cone - but here's the question what's the best glue for my engineer to glue the rubber surround to the basket?

    Thank you

I've used Aleene's Tacky Glue on Tannoys in the past. It's water based and mating faces remain movable for a while, works a treat! Apply it with a small art brush. It can be thinned with water if required.

If you don't have a spare, separate the trim ring from the front of the rubber cone surround very carefully for re-use before removing the cone itself. The rear cone spider is held in with screws, make sure the washers don't get into the coil gap or you'll have big problems.

You don't need to remove the gauze dust cap and shim the coil central as some suggest. It is easy enough to get right by feel and a bit of judicious jiggling.
