Digging out my Sony La Scala Pre amplifiers can these be used with any power amp if I use the output for the SA S1s? ��

If that lead coming out is carrying mains it appears to be coming out of the amp between two metal plates with no physical protection around it - when those sharp edges finally cut through the cable and short the Live conductor to the case, it's going to go bang, and so will you if you're touching it at the time!

I wouldn't even think of plugging it in until you've opened it up and made sure everything is safe. If whoever built it did something silly like they have with that lead, christ knows what other disasters could be hidden inside.

Thank you will have to wait to book it in for specialist repair i did my research asking repair engineers first i was not going to do anything unless safe to do so i always make sure of this

The Linsley Hood 75 construction says

Says on point 5 on construction ) Fit the mains transformer to the chassis with the wires coming out the rear on the bolt nearest to the mains input socket fit to solder tags those will be the earthing point to the chassis?

Yes, that all sounds good and the right way to do it - it's just whether whoever built it read these instructions and did it right!
