I know what a waste.. handy thing to own and so simple. I'm liking passive pres this will be my 3rd..��

I had mine rigged up with the Quad 306 for a while. It worked just fine, even though the Quad is tricky to match with pre-amps.

Something different ARC 101 Speakers back in main system for a while very nice ...

Well bought my old Nytech 252 back from the friend I sold it too purely for vinyl as this one has an mms card sounds brilliant with the ARC 101 Speakers rare gear in its day let alone today that's 3 252s I own now...

Could I use a Yamaha AX 596 as pre with the Quad 405?

Afternoon fun The Wharfedale Dovedale 3 / Tisbury Passive / Quad 405 excellent through in a Sony CDP S1 excellent definition and stonking bass the 405 is by far the best match for the rough and ready dovedales. I will admit I'm stacked full with speakers Kef / Tannoy / Ruark / ARC / IMF / and more ���� yikes + a 20+ amp collection

Well it took a while to come but the worlds cheapest passive pre is here - and sounding fantastic with the Quad 405 / IMF ALS 40 - I was sure moving some air i felt it in my stomach
