The best amp I've heard at the £1000 mark is the Abrahamsen V2 UP, what is yours and what would you recommend?

I'm going back a good few years but the Cyrus 2 with PSXR was very impressive at the time. No idea what they would fetch now.

If you're buying second hand, Creek Destiny 2. The sound quality is remarkable!

I can definitely recommend the Creek Destiny 2.....it’s on as I type .... just contemplating my next speakers to do it and my room justice.

I’ve also heard the Audiolab 8300a and was very impressed.

You may be surprised. It's not the size of the speaker that causes problems (Unless multiple drivers need a certain distance to Integrate properly) but the bass extension.

But don't you ever let nobody drag your spirit down
Remember you're walking up to heaven

Don't let nobody turn you around

I paid a grand for my Copland CSA14 in 1995, beautiful amp at the time, they probably go for a couple of hundred these days.
Before that I had a Cyrus 2 and PSX, the Copland was better in my opinion.
    Steve.

    Kit I have:
CD player, TTs, Phono stages, Pre amps, Power amps, Integrated amps, DACs, Streamers, Speakers and a bunch of cables.
