The Spendor A6R speakers are a refinement from the previous spendor A6. The two main diffrenecs between the models are the introduction of a new bass/mid driver and a re-engineered crossover. These improvements allow the A6R to deliver a very dynamic extended bass response coupled with a highly detailed midband. This combined with the sweet nature of the Spendor's high frequency delivery gives an incredibly well balance preformace.
The Spendor A6R speakers use a letterbox port design, Spendor call this a linear flow reflex design, and claim it is inspired by the spoilers on F1 cars. The air is distributed more effectively then from a standard rear port, meaning the Spendor A6R Speakers are easier then most to position.
