Haha - that's a belter! Looking from the OUTSIDE in, at 'forbidden fruits'...I can think of plenty who qualify

The answer to your question is simple:

Because they suffer from an acute form of 'entitlement syndrome' [the misguided belief that one is 'entitled' to do whatever one likes, and behave in the most crass and intolerably obnoxious way imaginable, without consequences), which is a disease of near-epidemic proportions now in today's 'me first' society - and when the ability to behave that way has been removed from them, they can't cope.

Couple that with the perpetrators of such almost always qualifying as eternal malcontents/depressives, often with little else in life to 'amuse' them, and a fragile ego continually needing 'stroked' - and the resulting void in their world left from such bans becomes unbearable. They are also unable to accept responsibility for their actions.

Therefore, they have to create another way of 'being heard', and protest their innocence, subsequently showcasing their bitter resentment towards all whom they consider have 'wronged them', whilst displaying ample evidence of mental instability [and no small degree of delusion], or at best a rather 'abstract' view of reality, for the collective amusement of anyone reading it.

Normal people (with a life), when they're banned from a forum, simply dry their eyes and get over it, then move on with their lives, as they have plenty else to fill that void. Trouble is, when you don't have much of a life, and are also inflicted with a continual and unhealthy craving for attention, that's easier said than done

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Indeed, but when you thrive on conflict, one feeds the other... Sadly, some folk are only happy when they're angry with someone (or something), and proceed to justify it to themselves that they're entitled to feel that way!

Quite a fritteful situation, indeed. Have to agree with Marco's psychological analysis of the great unwashed younger generation; well, a fair proportion at least. I blame social networking, or whatever it's called.

    What's a 'manto'? If it's something you port, it's a 'manteau'.
