I have a denon sut doing nothing. Frankly excellent but nothing gets close enough to my S8, including Hashimoto hm-7 also sitting idle.
    Any interest Mr Jake?

S8 presumably for an Io James in which case something like 1:50 or even higher? I wouldn't expect the HM7 to be ideal with an Io its ratios are 1:15 and 1:30. 1:15 should be good with the Technics though.

Yes the S8 for an Io. But it does a fantastic job for sevral other cartridges including the SPU you sold me many years ago. Quite why this should be is a mystery as on paper it should sound terrible, but it sounds better to me than the HM7 on either ratio.
So saying the Hashimoto sounds better with the Denon (agrees with calculations), opens it up more, a slightly etherial presentation compared to the 'meat and gravy' S8 delivery.

Jake, the Denon is a 320 IIRC, will check, switchable ratios, very nice unit, sounds pretty close to the others, and obviously designed for a DL103.
