It's always the wind making it feel colder here which is why, here anyway without the wind today, it feels (just about) acceptable for the middle of Winter.

Wind, rain and gloom here. Not too cold at 9C though.

January sucks. So does February but at least it is still light when you finish work. If you finish at 5 o'clock, that is.

To the thick blanket of cloud we have had for over a week, we now have rain and wind, which is making it feel colder still. Good job I'm running a Class-A amp today..

On the plus side, the days are noticeably longer, still being a bit light at 5 o/c, probably later if the clouds blew away.

Lashing down overnight and now blustery winds and heavy showers. Around 10c but wind making it feel cold. Roll on the warmer weather and stick the winter.

    Pissing down here.

Not really weather related but they are building a housing estate opposite me and have been good enough to send me the details of the temporary traffic lights they are proposing for the junction at the end of my street. You know how long it takes when there is just a 2 way temporary light? Tailbacks for miles. This is a 5 way. FFS.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

You guys need a tonic for the grey sky grumpies:
