The last bit of hifi I saw at a boot sale was a Sherwood receiver that had the smell of burnt resistor emnating through the slots in the lid ans the seller still wanted 50 notes for it. Damn near choked on me ice cream when he mentioned the price.

I recently acquired a Pioneer PL12D from a charity shop for peanuts. Still boxed up but the belt had seen better days, which caused a nasty grumbling noise with every turn of the platter and a new belt for £4 off ebay soon cured that.

It's not unusual, though most charity shops charge £1 or even £2 for some CDs. Most boot sales charge 20p.

Every little helps I guess (can’t even recall what the charity was, gave the nice old dear a fiver anyway).

A very slow start today as most sellers waited for daylight, but as well as a few CDs I got myself a Sansui SR 222 MkIV, I've always liked the looks of the 222s so I'll enjoy playing with it for a while, I need to replace the phono plugs, but cosmetically it looks really nice and comes with a really clean looking, possibly unused, MP11.
