Rod Stewart – ‘The Best of Rod Stewart’

    Mercury 6643 030 (1977)
All the Rod Stewart I need, all of his hits. In near perfect condition – I’m very pleased with this one. Double LP for £1

Chuck Berry – ‘The London Chuck Berry Sessions’

Chess (German Bellaphon pressing) BLPS 19198

In excellent condition, but has over 11 minutes of puerile innuendo on Side 2. Not sure if I will play this one much. 75p
    Nice finds again Barry

There's Elaine's car boot near Botany Bay, where I picked up a pair of JBL Control 1's for £15 the other week. Also, a bit further away there's one at Middlebrook (off the M61) that's on tarmac.

As Audio Al said earlier, you need to get there super early.

No is the short answer, what sort of time do you need to turn up to these sort of things? or is it a secret

Most boot sales open at 6 'o' clock and that is when the 'vinyl vultures' hover and pounce. But I have come across and bought a large quantity of vinyl in excellent condition and at a very reasonable price (around £1 apiece or less) from private sellers who have turned up after 10 'o' clock.

most of the car boot sales i've been to didn't really have a lot of hifi or vinyl for that matter, or maybe i wasn't really looking for it or as has been suggested i turned up a bit late for the party. Most of the 2nd hand vinyl i buy tends to come from either ebay or a place in Chorley called Drumbeat, Pete at Drumbeat is pretty good and if you buy something and you're not happy with it for whatever reason, he'll take it back, you do pay a premium though, ebay is a bit of a gamble in my eyes and many a time i've bought something which was advertised as VG+ and it's turned out to be unplayable, it's cheaper though. i'll have to give this car boot thing a proper go as it seems that you guys have found some real bargains.

The bargains are not guaranteed. I've bought some 'dogs' (but not too many)!

But boot sales are interesting places to visit, just to see what some people are wanting to shift.

Ok then Mike, I'll be round to pick you up at 6 next Sunday, so be ready!

Only kidding, but we could do something like that in a couple of weeks if you fancied. The one at Middlebrook is only 10 minutes down the M61 from us and apparently it's quite large. And not muddy.
