Default Promitheus TVC PreAmp with WAD KEL84 Power Amp

    Hi,

This pair is being listed on behalf of wee tee cee as I have them on loan at the moment and he has decided to advertise them for sale so any questions/info required will be directed to wee tee cee.

    SOLD AS A PAIR - £700 collected.

Postage will be considered at cost but will be expensive as I will only use Royal Mail Special Delivery.

    The Power amp info: http://www.world-designs.co.uk/power%20amps.htm

The Pre Amp info: please note this link is for the later model but some info will be pertinent to the model for sale above.

I’ve had this pair for the last few weeks and I have to say they are excellent, I just need a bit more power for the 15” drivers in my Tannoys or I’d be keeping them. It’s why I created a wanted thread to try and find a WAD KT88 XL integrated, see the HiFi World reviews on the KEL84 integrated to get an idea as to how good the power amp is.

Again thanks to Mikey for posting these up for me.

Had them maybe three years-Purchased off Grant (Struth).

Really nice combo that has a lovely midrange but not too soft.

Mixture of valves but all reasonably good.

Sounded nice on the end of my Spendor SP1s.

Would prefer if they find a home together but will be willing to split them if need be.

Using a Promitheus TVC with a Quad 306 to drive my Tannoys. Works a treat!

Yip, been listening to them this morning with my feet up on my new footstool. A great buy for someone.

They drive my Tannoys really well with great bass, midrange and good clear treble. If I didn't fancy buying a Primaluna integrated at 5x the price of these then I'd be keeping them. Let's face it the Primaluna isn't 5x better but it has all the features I want.

Cheap enough to try and if you don't like then be easy to move on, last Promitheus pre I saw on eBay went for £350 plus postage which makes this a cheap combo.

bump....fine pre-bit of a giant killer passive wise.

a very reasonable toe dip into the valve pool regards the power amp!
