Back on topic- if there is one
I really like this painting, it's called 'dazzle ship' by Edward wadsworth. It's a painting of a 1at world war ship being painted in dazzle patter camo, used to fool the perseption of perspective of the enemy

my biological mother is currently trying to get copywrite permision off the Canadian national gallery for her to have a print made of it for me ...

    So Hamish,
Just to confirm the 'groundrule of the thread':
    It doesn't have a topic.
If it looks like a topic is begining to emerge will it be OK to warn you that there's too much thread stability?

So after, say 5 posts on any 1 subject, the cry should go up:

    Sorry I love Bohemian Rhapsody

Especially this Shades of a miss spent young adult hood...except it was to Saga's Worlds Apart album.

Hamish you owe Dan that money, its the first and best of the two films.

Talking of dazzle camouflage, did you see this on telly http://www.open2.net/20thcentury/takecover.html ?
It was fascinating, especially the optical illusionary effects of dazzle camouflage - you can see it clearly by the naked eye, yet struggle to properly pinpoint the object properly and can have trouble working out which direction it is going in - truly bizarre.
