fans will cool you under normal circumstances, due to evaporation of water, which leaves the remaining water cooler. but when indoor air temperatures are hotter than about 95 °F, a fan may cause your body to gain heat instead of lose it. On very hot, humid days, sweat evaporates off the skin slower than normal, and fans make it even more difficult for the body to lose heat by sweating. It’s important to stay hydrated and use other means. you can also use ice in front of fan, which will cool air like a air con.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I saw a man on TV that collected all his junk mail, all his neighbors and family gave him theirs, and he had a machine that turns it all into fire wood! He heats his house for free every winter, burning nothing but junk mail.

I might look into that. I get enough of it through my door each week to power Birmingham. Must be the equivalent of an acre of rain forest at least.

It's been widely advertised. Did you not get the flyer?

Ran into my postie the other day and he handed me my post. 'Thanks', says I, 'junk mail and bills'.

'Keeps me in a job' he says with a glittering smile.

    What are they thinking? https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-45141149

To allow and encourage boxing in prisons? Do we really want criminals with a propensity to violence becoming better at it? And do we want those criminals who are uncertain about using violence, realising that they can become skilled at it?

No, I think the ones who are rubbish at fighting will give it a wide berth, leaving the scrappers with no one but each other to fight. Let them kill each other, that's what I say.
