    Cool Hello!

    Hello everyone!
Greetings from sunny Greece (yes, it is still sunny, at least for today)
I am Dimitris, 52 years old and classic rock fan since highschool. My hifi system currently consists of the following:
    Integrated Amplifier NAD C 315BEE
    AVR Denon AVR 2313
Speakers F JM Lab Chorus 725
Speaker C JM Lab Chorus CC 700
Speakers R JM Lab Chorus 705
    Sub Yamaha YST-SW515
CD Player Marantz 63SE (in need of service)
    Phonο Stage Pro-Ject PhonoBox II
    Turntable Technics SL-1510 MK2
    Headshell Ortofon Red PnP
Power Filter Furman AC-210 AE (necessary for DENON, not so much for NAD)

I am currently on the lookout for a decent DAC, on a limited budget (alas)

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Hi Dimitris. Welcome to AOS.

Tell us what music you like and what future plans you may have for your system.

If you need a DAC, you could try a 'wanted' listing in the Private Exhibitions section.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Hi
I listen mostly to Classic Rock from the late 60's-80's, but any rock hard, soft, heavy metal etc will do.
    My near-future plans are:
    1) DAC - most likely a Beresford SEG, since I've read many excellent reviews / comments (mostly in this very site)
    2) CD - either fix my good old Marantz 63SE or get a NAD CD (516 ?) haven't decided yet

    Any opinions are welcome,
    Dimitris
