crema is a bit bland on its own i found. produces great base crema, and lives up to its name. im down to about 20% now in the mix, so its only giving the extra creama and not dulling flavour by much.. Everything in life is a trade off after all.

In practice I have had a lot of hybrids. Every time a bean bag comes to an end it gets mixed in with the new bag for a cup or two i.e. remnants the hopper with the new beans. Always interesting.

Indeed... In terms of first bit, if that's what you taste, then fair enough. But part of it will be due to the simple fact of them being lower-quality beans, and which haven't been roasted with the same care, and/or aren't very fresh. Fast roasting-to-shipping times is one of the advantages of using small, specialist coffee suppliers
Nothing you can buy from mainstream sources or supermarkets comes close!

You can over do the grind /tamp too making it run a bit slow which with beans with robusta in can give that. I find grinding a bit rougher makes a big difference as does lowering tamp weight to nearer 20lbs
