Great album Grant. Quite the acoustical atmosphere in the cathedral. Really comes through in the recording. Makes for contemplative listening...

Yes indeed the Branford Marsalis paints a wonderful picture.

Here is something currently playing. Wonderful solo acoustic guitar.

    Current: [P20] Roon/Tidal > Custom PC> Chevron Paradox NDF16 > Phast Pre > Neuro. 686 > Tannoy Berkley (RFC tweaks)

If you're a Branford Marsalis fan, this is well worth a listen:

He did the soundtrack to this movie. I'm normally not a big fan of jazz vocals, but the singer (Cynda Williams) on the Harlem Blues track is wonderful. What a voice! Terence Blanchard plays on this album as well.

Marsalis sure has explored a variety of jazz styles. Always interesting to see what he is up to.

    Enjoy!

PS -- I'm sitting at my desk listening to this on Spotify now, and had to laugh out loud at track 6, Pop Top 40 -- Denzel Washington doing a critical rant on crap pop music. Fits perfectly with the Crap Pop thread running here currently And that was recorded in 1990...

    Snap!

Just spinning this album (er, streaming via Tidal) and nice choons. Like you I was amused about the Top Pop 40 and how that fits in with the concurrent thread elsewhere on AoS.

Love "Beneath the Underdog". Lovely pace and grace ....

To be fair it was Adam that put me onto Tidal as well as Branford Marsalis (as he kindly reminds us per below quote )

But Grant I thought I read somewhere else that you were a selected user in the Spotify HiRes beta test. Maybe it was someone else.
