I saw Herbie Hancock in the late '70s, where he was performing stuff from his about to released 'Secrets' album.

Rather disappointed - to my ears he was just noodling around with various keyboards. Admittedly he had visited a shop in Denmark street (?) that afternoon and bought some instruments, so probably hadn't had much of a chance to get used to them - but it seemed to me he was just 'faffing' about.

Yeah I know what you mean, but interestingly the Flood album doesnít have a bad track on it. The first track is just him on grand piano, a lovely piece lots of feeling. There is quiet and loud moments and shade in the pieces, worth a listen
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Horace Silver - That healin' feelin'. Slightly awesome. My fave jazz artist I think, close run with Hancock. I do like the more blues influenced jazz.
